The Caterpillar Lab

2024 Twelve Month Calendar - Odd Forms in Nature

Regular price $ 25.00 $ 0.00

Twelve months of Samuel Jaffe's beautiful caterpillar photographs! In this calendar, Sam explores some of the oddest and most artistic caterpillars he's ever photographed! Each month features a wild and beautifully strange image from a caterpillar species with additional images and information on the calendar page.

Please pay close attention to your selected amount to avoid paying more than expected: choosing a higher price level will be a donation that goes directly towards supporting the educational, scientific, and artistic efforts of the Lab!  The Caterpillar Lab is a New Hampshire non-profit corporation recognized by the United States Internal Revenue Service as an I.R.C. Section 501(c)(3) Public Charity. Donations are tax deductible by the donor to the extent permitted by law (please subtract a twenty dollar amount from any deduction to cover the value of our calendar gift.)

We need your help to continue our work both online and in the field here in New England, so please give generously.  If you would like to make a larger donation than "Evolution" level, please contact Sam Jaffe, The Caterpillar Lab director, at jaffe@thecaterpillarlab.org or call 603-876-5057 to make arrangements.

Why Support The Caterpillar Lab?

The Caterpillar Lab is a completely unique endeavor in the world of environmental education.  There is simply nothing else like us out there! We use native caterpillars as a resource to bring people into the world of local, backyard natural history. Our underlying goal is to spark curiosity and encourage exploration and discovery. We surprise people about their own natural heritage every day -- our audience will never look at their "old familiar places" the same way again.

At every opportunity, The Caterpillar Lab celebrates the intersection of art, science, education, and natural history study.  We encourage growth within each of these areas, and especially across them.  Our outreach involves exhibit production, educational programs, educational resources, video production, photography, dance choreography, and original and collaborative research.  We are always looking for new ways to interact with caterpillars and broaden our audience!

All of our outreach events are over-the-top, jaw dropping, and inspirational.  Our lab in Marlborough, NH is open to the public and we enjoy every opportunity to invite visitors in for a behind-the-scenes experience.  We reach tens of thousands of people directly and millions of people across the world through our thriving Facebook page.

We are a passionate organization, doing one-of-a-kind work that IS ONLY POSSIBLE with your help. Without your donations, there could be no The Caterpillar Lab.

Mission Statement:  The Caterpillar Lab fosters greater appreciation and care for the complexity and beauty of our local natural history through live caterpillar educational programs, research initiatives, and photography and film projects. We believe that an increased awareness of one’s local environment is the foundation on which healthy and responsible attitudes towards the broader natural systems of this world is built.
