2026 Twelve Month Calendar -- Verdant Geometry (NEW)
This year’s twelve-month calendar features the luminous emerald moths of eastern North America, with each month showcasing a full photo plate from Samuel Jaffe’s ongoing life-history book project. It offers a rare early look at the project, pairing Sam’s striking image plates with brief notes on host plants, distribution, and natural history.
The final pages expand the set into a complete field guide, covering additional species and giving a broader view of this remarkable group of geometrid inchworms.
The emeralds are a study in crypsis and charisma – caterpillars mirroring their host plants, adults showing how many ways a green moth can dazzle. This small group alone reminds us of the unseen beauty always close at hand in the natural world.
Important Pricing Note (Please Read!)
Our calendars function as both a retail item and a fundraising tool for our nonprofit organization. We offer several pricing levels: Choosing a higher level is equivalent to adding a donation that directly supports the educational, scientific, and artistic efforts of the Lab. Please double-check your selected price level before adding to your cart.
For contributions beyond the “Evolution” level, please contact Sam Jaffe, Director of The Caterpillar Lab, at jaffe@thecaterpillarlab.org or 603-876-5057.
The Caterpillar Lab is a New Hampshire nonprofit corporation recognized by the United States Internal Revenue Service as a Section 501(c)(3) public charity. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. (Please subtract $20 from any deductible amount to account for the value of your calendar.)

Why Support The Caterpillar Lab?
The Caterpillar Lab is unlike anything else in environmental education. Using native caterpillars, we open people’s eyes to the wild world hidden in their own backyards—changing the way they see their “old familiar places” forever.
We blend art, science, and storytelling through exhibits, programs, media, and research, reaching tens of thousands in person and millions online. Every visit, every program, every image is designed to spark curiosity and inspire discovery.
We’re passionate, we’re unique, and our work is only possible because of supporters like you. Your donation directly supports this one-of-a-kind mission.
